A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
“If you want to shine like a sun, first burn like a sun.” – A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
An eminent scientist, a nation’s influential President, an aspiring author, an awardee of a number of reputable awards; Sir. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has served many more roles in his lifetime, yet this powerful man chose simplicity as his way of living. His contributions towards Science and Technology is beyond measureable limits fetching him highly prestigious awards worldwide including Von Braun Award, Bharat Ratna, International von Karman Wings Award, Padma Vibhushan and many more. With so many stars weighing down on his shoulders, Kalam Sir always stayed humble throughout his life. Aside science, his life is celebrated for inspiring the youth around the world through his motivating speeches and books. His words are quoted by many famous people and his quote on dream, “Dream is not what you see in sleep. It is the thing which doesn’t let you sleep.” has become a motto for many thriving youngsters including me and hence led to this portrait, a white crayon drawing on black canvas as an appreciation to this prominent yet down to earth human being. -
Mother’s Love
A mother’s unconditional love is the purest form of affection and is the base for all relationships in the world. No words can truly describe the inseparable bond between a mother and her child. The birth of a child activates the maternal instincts within a women, making her gentle yet strong. She becomes more caring and giving yet will defend and protect her child against any force. A mother’s love for her children is as powerful as Mother Earth’s love for her earthlings. Here is a coloured pencil drawing displaying a mother’s love drawn on a Mother’s Day as an appreciation to all the wonderful moms around the world for their hardships and tolerance.

A.R.Rahman
“What cannot be put into words can be expressed through music.” – A.R.Rahman
Music is one of those art forms that can elevate one’s emotional wellbeing by exciting or soothing the mind. A.R.Rahman is one of my personal favourite musicians for making me realize and relate my emotions through his music. Having won prestigious Grammy awards and The Golden Globe awards and many more awards in his career spread across three decades hasn’t shaken this artist’s humbleness and the gratitude he feels for being able to produce such great music. This portrait, a white crayon drawing on black canvas is my payback to A.R.Rahman for inspiring me and many others to continue to experiment and learn in order to get better at whatever one may pursue in life. -
